FAQ

How old do I have to be to apply?

You must be at least 21 years of age as of June 1, 2016.

Do I need to be a U.S. resident?

Yes. You must be a U.S. resident with a valid U.S. driver’s license.

What dates do I need to be available?

To be considered for the show, you must be available for both the final casting process and the show’s production. If you are chosen to move into the final casting process in Los Angeles, CA, you must be available from approximately June 5 to June 10, 2016. Producers will provide transportation to/from Los Angeles and lodging in the Los Angeles area. If you are then chosen to be a participant on the show, you must be available from approximately June 27 – July 31, 2016 for the taping of the program. Producers will provide lodging and transportation to/from and during the production.

What other qualifications do I need to apply?

Since you may be competing in a series of skills-based challenges that could be considered physically and mentally demanding as you travel across the country, you must be in good physical and mental condition. Challenges may include running, climbing, lifting, carrying, driving, operating equipment, puzzle solving, long periods without sleep and exposure to extreme and/or unpredictable weather. See the ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS at the top of the online application form for further requirements.

When do I find out if I make it to the next round of casting?

If you are moving into the next round of casting, staff will contact you prior to June 1, 2016 for additional information or to inform you about the next step in the casting process.

If I become a participant on the show, will I be able to contact my friends, family and co-workers during the production?

If you are selected as a cast member on "The Runner," you must be available and willing to live and travel with the production from approximately June 27 - July 31, 2016, without access to phones, computers, television, radio, mail or any other form of communication with people outside of the production of the show. This is standard procedure for similar competition shows and is designed to help ensure the fairness of the competition. You must be able to be out of communication with family, friends and work while you are on the show. That being said, your loved ones will be provided with contact information to reach production staff in case of an emergency.

Do I need to be an athlete or have experience with endurance events/sports to qualify for the show?

No, you do not need to be an athlete or have experience with endurance events/sports to apply for the roles of RUNNER or CHASERS. You do, however, need to be reasonably fit to keep up with the pace of the show.

I’m having problems applying through the online form. Who can I contact?
